It’s time to get fresh with the St. Louis region’s best growers and artisans as the Webster Groves Farmers Market opens for the 2012 season.  The first market will take place Thursday, May 3, from 3 to 7 p.m. on S. Old Orchard at Big Bend by Gazebo Park.

On opening day, Paint Webster artist Anne Ibur will set up her easel to capture the spirit of the market on her canvas.  The Webster Groves Fire Department will be on hand displaying fire equipment.  And the “Recycling Becomes Me” program also will host an exhibit on site.

Each week the market offers a special activity for children.  On opening day, the Missouri Botanical Garden will help kids plant basil and make a plant marker to take home.

Rosewood will take the stage for Music at the Market, and Chef Colleen from Big Sky Café will be whipping up creative cuisine in the Chef Tent.  Milagro, the Webster Groves restaurant, will be on hand to promote their upcoming Cinco de Mayo event.
